Belu Coffee Brand

For this project, I created a coffee brand inspired by the country of Belize called Belu, a name derived from a Belizean greeting meaning "hello." During my research, I learned that Belize has a rich tradition of handmade craftsmanship, with many tools and everyday items historically created by local artisans.

To reflect this heritage, I incorporated a linoleum print-inspired illustration style throughout the branding to celebrate the country's handcrafted culture. The visual identity also draws inspiration from the Garifuna culture, whose traditions are influenced by both African and Spanish heritage. Each coffee bag highlights a different aspect of Belize's culture, including its agriculture, music, and dance, creating a packaging system that tells the story of the country's vibrant identity.

printing process

Combined watercolor, ink, and a linocut-inspired illustration style to create artwork that reflects Belize's rich tradition of handmade craftsmanship and cultural heritage.

Final

After completing the hand-carved linocut prints, I digitized the artwork in Adobe Photoshop and used it to develop the final packaging design, labels, and supporting brand elements.
